The paint looks more smooth

The paint looks more smooth and fresh, like it just got a light polish. It’s not obvious on the car, but you can feel it adds that extra layer of protection for daily driving. Washing the car also feels easier now since dirt doesn’t stick as much.

Keeps the surface looking clean and glossy without changing the natural marble look

Keeps the surface looking clean and glossy without changing the natural marble look. It helps protect against light scratches, stains, and daily wear, and it’s also easier to wipe clean since spills don’t stick as much. Overall, simple and effective way to protect the table while still keeping it looking nice.

The film has already been installed, the process was smooth, I like to work with it no doubt. And I would rate 100 out of 100 for it.

Thank you for the comment! And feel free to reach out if you need anything!

I liked the V75 Access much better than the X75 core, i had a much easier time laying it and getting it to stretch and stick with deep or heavy curves. And it seemed to stick and seal easier when wrapping edges as well. Just my anecdotal opinion. Both films looked great after install and my customers were very happy!

Really glad to hear both films turned out great and that your customers were happy with the final results. It's especially helpful to hear your comparison between the V75 Access and X75 Core. We truly appreciate the feedback from experienced installers like you.

The water-repellent property is excellent. Gel is recommended for the application solution. The film feels a bit stiff.

Description

TeckWrap Clear X75 Core is a gloss clear paint protection film built on aliphatic TPU (Lubrizol ESTANE®) with a Lotus Effect hydrophobic top coat. The Lotus Effect repels water, dirt, and contaminants for easier maintenance and a cleaner long-term finish.

At 300 µm total thickness with a 183 µm application layer, X75 Core delivers reliable PPF-grade defense against stone chips, scratches, splatter, and minor abrasions. Higher 350% elongation and 17 MPa tensile strength deliver clean stretch over curves without tearing. The self-healing surface reflows light scratches with heat.

For everyday daily drivers, partial-coverage installs (hood, fenders, mirrors, rocker panels), and budget-conscious owners who want strong impact protection and a reliable Lotus Effect finish. Backed by TeckWrap's decade of paint protection film manufacturing experience and worldwide installer network.

How TeckWrap compares

Not all film is the same

Cheap film won't last a season. Legacy brands charge a brand premium. TeckWrap sits in the middle: professional-grade film at an honest price.

The cheap way

Budget Film

Saves money up front, then bubbles, fades and cracks within a season.

What it costs

✕Cheapest to buy, and you pay again when it ambers.

Film chemistry

✕TPH or PVC. Ambers under UV and never recovers.

Thickness

✕6 mil or less, and usually not stated anywhere.

Self healing

✕None, or a claim that stops working after one season.

Yellowing and clarity

✕Visible ambering on the hood, usually inside two summers.

Hydrophobic performance

✕No functional top coat. Water sheets and dries with spots.

Warranty and removal

✕No warranty. Removal needs solvent and risks the clear coat.

The smart way

TeckWrap Film

Professional-grade film at an honest price. Reversible, paint-safe, and color-shifting.

What it costs

$799 a roll, 245 square feet. That is $3.26 a foot.

Film chemistry

Aliphatic TPU on a Lubrizol ESTANE base. It does not amber.

Thickness

8.4 mil application layer on G85 Premium. 339 microns total.

Self healing

TORAY top coat. Swirls and light scratches close with heat.

Yellowing and clarity

Color shift of 0.2 delta E after 500 hours SGS tested

Hydrophobic performance

TORAY Lotus Effect beading, or hydrophilic sheeting. Your choice.

Warranty and removal

Warranty backed, heat removable and paint safe, minimal residue.

See the finish in person before you commit.

The legacy way

Legacy Brand Film

Comparable film, but you pay a brand premium.

What it costs

✕No published price. An installer quotes you, region by region.

Film chemistry

–Aliphatic TPU. Same chemistry, priced like a different material.

Thickness

–8 mil standard, with thicker track options at a premium.

Self healing

Self healing with a published recovery temperature.

Yellowing and clarity

–Long QUV tested clarity, at the legacy brand price.

Hydrophobic performance

High contact angle top coat, comparable performance.

Warranty and removal

–10 years on paper, tied to a certified installer network.

Clear PPF / Gloss FAQ

Find it by topic

Choosing & buying
Which one do I actually need?

Match the film to the road, not the price. Higher application layer thickness and tensile strength buy impact resistance, which matters on trucks, high mileage cars and gravel roads. G85 Premium sits at 339 μm total with a 214 μm application layer and 21 MPa tensile. X75 Core at 300 μm and 17 MPa is the everyday choice. Both stop chips. One stops bigger ones.

Why is the wide roll more expensive per car but cheaper per job?

Because seams cost more than film. W75 Auro+ runs 1.83 m (6 ft) against the standard 1.52 m (5 ft), which covers a hood or a door in one sheet instead of two. Fewer seams means less visible line work, fewer failure points and less labor. On large panels that pays for itself.

Hydrophobic or hydrophilic. Which do I want?

Depends on your water, not your preference. Lotus Effect films bead water and shed dirt, which most owners expect and most of this range uses. Hydrophilic films spread water into a sheet that runs off flat, which leaves fewer spots in hard water and wet climates. Worth knowing before you buy: the two longest covered films in the range, S95 Aeon and S85 Legacy, are specified non-hydrophobic. They do not bead. That is a formulation choice at the top of the range, not a fault.

How long can I keep a roll before using it?

One year from the production date, stored at +14 to +20°C (57 to 68°F) at around 50 percent humidity. Record the LOT number when it arrives. A roll that sat two summers in a hot shop is the hidden cause behind a lot of adhesion complaints, and it is avoidable inventory management, not a film defect.

Look & colour
Will it change how my paint looks?

Slightly, and usually for the better. Gloss level runs about 82 at 60 degrees with light transmission of 90 to 92 percent, so paint reads a little deeper and wetter under it rather than duller. On a flake or pearl the depth is more obvious than on a solid color.

If I only do the hood, will the edge show?

At the edge, yes, close up. A wrapped edge tucks out of sight, but where the film stops on an open panel there is a fine step you can feel and see at an angle. Plan coverage by panel, not by area, and if the car will be inspected closely, extend to the natural break rather than stopping mid panel.

Installing
Can it be installed dry?

No. This film goes on wet, always. The adhesive is repositionable during placement and then self cures, reaching full bond about seven days at room temperature. Rushing that week is how edges lift.

Why do the edges lift on some jobs and not others?

Wrapped edges hold, cut edges are exposed. Tucking the film around a panel edge puts the adhesive on a surface that is not fighting airflow. Where a cut edge is unavoidable, it needs post heat at 95°C (203°F) and a clean, degreased surface under it. Overlaps run 3 to 4 mm.

Care & cleaning
Do I still need a ceramic coating on top?

Optional, not required. The top coat already resists solvents, stains and marker pen. A PPF rated coating mainly buys easier washing and better water behavior. Never polish or compound a PPF surface. Removing the top coat removes the self healing permanently.

When can I wash it after install?

Wait seven days, and this one is a warranty condition, not advice. After that, hand wash with pH neutral products. If you pressure wash, stay under 2,000 psi and 60°C (140°F), use a 40 degree or wider nozzle, hold it at least 30 cm (12 in) back and keep it perpendicular. Brush automatic washes void coverage.

Damage & durability
Does PPF actually stop stone chips, or just scratches?

Stone chips, which is the entire point. TPU is an elastomer, so it takes the impact and spreads the energy instead of transmitting it into the clear coat. The films in this range run 262 to 339 microns total, which is what stands between a highway stone and a respray.

Does it yellow?

Not the way the old films did. Yellowing was an aromatic and PVC problem. This range is aliphatic TPU built on Lubrizol ESTANE, which held appearance and physical performance through accelerated weathering equivalent to nine years. UV resistance runs 95 to 98 percent across the range.

Does self healing really work?

On light marks, yes, and heat is the trigger. Wash swirls and fine marring reflow with sun or warm water, and testing shows essentially complete repair at 70°C (158°F). Anything that cut through the top coat into the film does not come back.
