Description

Warranty

Chrome is a partial-wrap accent film for detailing, trim, and relatively flat surfaces. Full vehicle wraps are not recommended because of the limited stretch and the structure of the metalized layer. Outdoor durability depends on climate, and on horizontal surfaces is around 1 year depending on exposure. The warranty covers manufacturing defects when the film is properly stored, professionally installed, and maintained per the care guidance. It does not cover abrasion, scratches, micro-marks, or distortion of the metalized layer, which are characteristics of chrome films.

Application

  • Partial wrap only. Chrome is intended for accent elements, detailing, decals, signs, and relatively flat surfaces. Full vehicle wraps are not recommended.
  • Professional installation by an installer experienced with metalized films is strongly recommended.
  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Application temperature: +17°C to +23°C
  • Dry installation only.
  • Tools: squeegee with a soft buffer to minimize surface marks. Apply gentle, controlled pressure.
  • Limited stretch, approximately 2 to 5%. Excessive stretching or strong heating can permanently distort the metalized layer, and the appearance cannot be restored.
  • A steam vacuum or IR heater can assist controlled heating when required.
  • Directional film. Keep orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid finish variation between panels.
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Laminating the chrome film can improve durability and surface protection in some applications.
  • Removal: chrome and metalized films are best removed cold. Heat-assisted removal can increase adhesive residue, and some residue should be expected on removal.
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

Disclaimer

All TeckWrap statements, technical information, and recommendations are based on tests believed to be reliable but do not constitute a guarantee or warranty. All products are sold with the understanding that the buyer has independently determined the suitability of the products for their purpose.

This film is designed for partial wrapping applications only. Chrome and metalized films are intended for accent elements, detailing, and relatively flat surfaces. Full vehicle wraps are not recommended due to the limited stretchability and structure of the metalized layer.

Metalized films require careful handling. Excessive stretching, aggressive repositioning, strong heating, or crumpling may permanently alter the reflective structure of the metalized layer, and once distorted the appearance cannot be restored. Minor surface scratches or micro-marks may occur during installation or normal use and are considered a characteristic of this material, not covered under warranty.

Color and reflectivity vary with lighting, viewing angle, and surroundings. Chrome can appear softer or slightly milky in natural light compared with studio photography. Removal is best done cold, as heat-assisted removal can increase adhesive residue.

Screen images may vary, refer to physical color swatches. Use the same production LOT for color consistency. Scratches during application or daily use are not covered.
