Quitar una película de vinilo de un vehículo puede resultar difícil, especialmente si está envuelta en todos los bordes. Aquí te damos algunos consejos para que logres una eliminación limpia y eficiente. Tomemos como ejemplo una capota, ya que es una superficie de aplicación bastante grande y puede resultar complicado quitar un trozo tan grande de película de vinilo.
Seccionarlo
Si resulta difícil retirar un panel gigante, lo más conveniente debería ser seccionarlo antes de retirarlo. Primero afila tu cuchillo y le darás algunos toques ligeros a la película de vinilo con la hoja afilada.
(Cortar directamente sobre la superficie siempre es riesgoso. Si necesita más confianza, pruebe con un trozo de sobra en una mesa de trabajo para encontrar la presión adecuada que debe usar con su cuchillo).
Corta alrededor del borde superior de la capucha y haz varios cortes verticales en la superficie principal como si estuvieras creando rayas. Simplemente use su cuchilla para tocar la película y marcarla ligeramente.
Realmente no tienes que cortarlo. Si el material no se rompe, puedes hacer otro corte más tarde. La clave en esta etapa es rayar la película y ayudarte a encontrar el punto de partida para despegarla.
Tómalo
Puedes comenzar desde el borde cerca del parabrisas. Encuentra tu punto de partida y retira un poco de la película en la parte superior. Luego tendrá acceso a las “rayas” en la superficie principal.
Cuando retires la película, hazlo rápido para asegurar una extracción limpia. Y si encuentras un trozo grande que no está bien separado, haz otro corte en la dirección correcta para dividirlo primero en rayas.

Why would you EVER consider cutting the vinyl directly on the hood in order to “section” it off into strips?! I don’t care how skilled at cutting someone is, it’s just a matter of time before problems arise…
To tackle a hood, I’d start at the back corners near the A-pillars and pull up the vinyl facing the windshield first (just past where it rounds the top edge). Then working along the fender facing sides towards the front of the hood and finish unwrapping the front edge before moving to the main area. Starting from any of the corners (I start from the front), use a little heat and begin making low (30-40 degree), quick “popping” short pulls away from the direction you’re removing (similar to removing a command strip but instead of slowly pulling low and back you want to make quick popping motions to “snap” up the vinyl to help avoid leaving excess adhesive on the surface). Continue working around the perimeter of the hood working towards the center or back of the hood until the removal is complete.
