There are bright reds and there are deep reds, and Velvet Red is firmly the second kind. It's a candy wine red with ruby in the highlights and black cherry in the shadows, the sort of color that looks almost liquid when the light hits it right. Indoors it sits as burgundy. Outdoors in full sun it opens up into a deep candy ruby. The richness never tips into a flat maroon, which is what keeps it looking like an expensive factory tintcoat rather than a wrap.
It suits cars that wear a serious red well, the ones where understatement and richness matter more than shouting: BMW M3 and M5, a Mazda6 or MX-5, the Alfa Giulia, a Ferrari Roma, the Cadillac CT5, a Lexus LC, or a Genesis G80.
For the OEM-minded, the nearest reference is BMW Individual Aventurin Red Metallic, with Velvet Red just slightly more vivid. Mazda's Soul Red Crystal shares the candy depth but Velvet Red goes darker and more burgundy, and Cadillac Red Horizon Tintcoat sits close on warmth.
