Why We’re Bringing Our Latest Dry-Install Color PPF

As a manufacturer, sponsoring an event like this isn’t just about putting our logo on a banner. It’s a chance to put our latest tools directly into the hands of the best installers in the world. And for Hungary 2026, the tool we’re most excited to share is our newest innovation: TeckWrap’s Dry-Install Color Paint Protection Film (PPF).

For years, we’ve listened to installers describe the same dilemma. You have color-change vinyl, which is fast and workable, but it’s made for aesthetics, not heavy-duty protection. Then you have clear PPF, which offers unbeatable defense against rock chips and scrapes, but the wet install process can be slow and messy. It felt like you always had to choose between speed and protection.

We decided that shouldn’t be the case anymore. So, we built a film that gives you the best of both worlds.

The Film You Can Judge for Yourself at the Event

We wanted to create a film that handles like a premium vinyl but protects like true PPF. Here’s a quick look at what makes our Dry-Install Color PPF different:

• It’s Real TPU: This isn’t a vinyl hybrid. The base is real, U.S.-made thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). It’s the same self-healing material that makes clear PPF so effective. At 180-220 microns thick, it’s tough enough to take a real hit. A light scratch? A quick pass with a heat gun and it’s gone.
  
• The Color is Built In: We hate faded, peeling films as much as you do. So instead of just a colored top layer, we infused the pigment directly into the TPU. It’s UV-stable, so it won’t yellow. And because the color runs all the way through, if you do manage to scratch it, the color underneath is the same. No white stress lines.
  
• The Install is Bone Dry: This is where it changes the game. The adhesive is pressure-activated with a low initial tack. You lay it down dry, slide it into place, and only when you squeegee with firm pressure does it bond. No slip solution, no waiting for tack, and no mess. And because the tack stays low until you press, you can lift and reposition if you need to. It also features air-release channels, so you can lay it down flat and fast without chasing bubbles.
  
• It’s Ready to Go, Now: Once you’ve squeegeed it, the job is done. There’s no curing time. You can hand the keys back to the client immediately. On a full vehicle, that saves you hours.
