Clear W75 Auro+Paint Protection Film

Match the film to the road, not the price. Higher application layer thickness and tensile strength buy impact resistance, which matters on trucks, high mileage cars and gravel roads. G85 Premium sits at 339 μm total with a 214 μm application layer and 21 MPa tensile. X75 Core at 300 μm and 17 MPa is the everyday choice. Both stop chips. One stops bigger ones.

Because seams cost more than film. W75 Auro+ runs 1.83 m (6 ft) against the standard 1.52 m (5 ft), which covers a hood or a door in one sheet instead of two. Fewer seams means less visible line work, fewer failure points and less labor. On large panels that pays for itself.

Depends on your water, not your preference. Lotus Effect films bead water and shed dirt, which most owners expect and most of this range uses. Hydrophilic films spread water into a sheet that runs off flat, which leaves fewer spots in hard water and wet climates. Worth knowing before you buy: the two longest covered films in the range, S95 Aeon and S85 Legacy, are specified non-hydrophobic. They do not bead. That is a formulation choice at the top of the range, not a fault.

One year from the production date, stored at +14 to +20°C (57 to 68°F) at around 50 percent humidity. Record the LOT number when it arrives. A roll that sat two summers in a hot shop is the hidden cause behind a lot of adhesion complaints, and it is avoidable inventory management, not a film defect.

Slightly, and usually for the better. Gloss level runs about 82 at 60 degrees with light transmission of 90 to 92 percent, so paint reads a little deeper and wetter under it rather than duller. On a flake or pearl the depth is more obvious than on a solid color.

At the edge, yes, close up. A wrapped edge tucks out of sight, but where the film stops on an open panel there is a fine step you can feel and see at an angle. Plan coverage by panel, not by area, and if the car will be inspected closely, extend to the natural break rather than stopping mid panel.

No. This film goes on wet, always. The adhesive is repositionable during placement and then self cures, reaching full bond about seven days at room temperature. Rushing that week is how edges lift.

Wrapped edges hold, cut edges are exposed. Tucking the film around a panel edge puts the adhesive on a surface that is not fighting airflow. Where a cut edge is unavoidable, it needs post heat at 95°C (203°F) and a clean, degreased surface under it. Overlaps run 3 to 4 mm.

Optional, not required. The top coat already resists solvents, stains and marker pen. A PPF rated coating mainly buys easier washing and better water behavior. Never polish or compound a PPF surface. Removing the top coat removes the self healing permanently.

Wait seven days, and this one is a warranty condition, not advice. After that, hand wash with pH neutral products. If you pressure wash, stay under 2,000 psi and 60°C (140°F), use a 40 degree or wider nozzle, hold it at least 30 cm (12 in) back and keep it perpendicular. Brush automatic washes void coverage.

Stone chips, which is the entire point. TPU is an elastomer, so it takes the impact and spreads the energy instead of transmitting it into the clear coat. The films in this range run 262 to 339 microns total, which is what stands between a highway stone and a respray.

Not the way the old films did. Yellowing was an aromatic and PVC problem. This range is aliphatic TPU built on Lubrizol ESTANE, which held appearance and physical performance through accelerated weathering equivalent to nine years. UV resistance runs 95 to 98 percent across the range.

On light marks, yes, and heat is the trigger. Wash swirls and fine marring reflow with sun or warm water, and testing shows essentially complete repair at 70°C (158°F). Anything that cut through the top coat into the film does not come back.

Three things, and none of them are difficult. Register the installation within 30 days. Remove tree sap, bird droppings and insect residue within 24 to 48 hours. Do not apply waxes, sealants or coatings that are not approved. Etching from contaminants left on the film is excluded, so the 48 hour rule is the one that actually costs people coverage.

Manufacturing defects, from 4 to 10 years depending on the film. S95 Aeon carries 10 years, S85 Legacy 9, S75+ Elite 8, G85 Premium and G75 Titan 6, W75 Auro+, M75 and BLK Phantom 5, and the X, V and BLK-X films 4. Covered defects are yellowing, cracking, bubbling, delamination, adhesive failure on sound factory paint, staining from within the film and loss of optical clarity. Coverage is non prorated, so a defect in year seven is remedied in full.

Impact damage, which surprises people. Rock chips, scratches, cuts and punctures are what the film is there to absorb, not what the warranty replaces it for. Also excluded: film on non factory paint, heat above the maximum service temperature, brush washes, contaminant etching, and motorsport use. Replacement film is the remedy. Labor is not reimbursed to vehicle owners.

No. Coverage requires installation by a TeckWrap Authorized Installer on sound factory paint, registered within 30 days with the product, batch number, VIN, installer ID and installation date. A roll bought and self installed is a fine way to protect a car and it carries no warranty. Decide which of those two things you are buying before you order.
