Description

Bond Gold is the darkest and most dramatic of TeckWrap's gold family. Rather than staying gold throughout, the base shifts hard with the angle. Parked in shadow or lit from above, it reads as a deep, almost black olive bronze, and only turns to warm champagne gold where direct light hits the panel head on.

This kind of flop, shifting from near black to gold depending on the light angle, is the same effect Porsche's factory Dark Olive Metallic is known for, though that color usually needs a six figure Turbo S to access it. Next to Golden Yellow's steadier brass and Hornet Yellow's warm amber, Bond Gold is the moodiest and most secretive of the three, reading like a sophisticated finish more than a bright one.

Key Attributes

  • Dramatic flop effect: shifts from near black olive bronze in shadow to warm champagne gold in direct light.
  • Darkest of the house's golds: moodier and more secretive than Golden Yellow or Hornet Yellow.
  • Large, coarse metallic flake: creates the dramatic light shift rather than a flat, even sparkle.
  • Weatherproof adhesion: Henkel solvent based acrylic adhesive, ultra weather resistant, removes without residue.
  • Smooth installation: high grade calendered vinyl with air release channels lays down without bubbling.

OEM Match

  • Same dramatic black to gold flop effect as Porsche's factory Dark Olive Metallic, usually only available as a costly factory option.
  • Shares the shifting character of automotive chameleon and flop paint finishes generally, without the show car price tag.

It's the gold that looks like it's hiding something, which is probably the point of the name.

Warranty

  • With proper care and a ceramic coating, this matte metallic finish offers up to 3 years of outdoor durability on vertical panels and around 2 year across a full wrap, depending on climate zone.
  • It is more delicate than gloss, and parking indoors or under cover extends its life. Heat-removable, with minimal adhesive residue when removed within the recommended period.

Application

  • Application temperature +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: soft squeegee with buffer
  • Conformability: flat and moderate curves, deep recesses with inlays
  • Post-heat: 100°C
  • Cure: 24 hrs above 10°C, 48 hrs at room temperature recommended
  • Overlap: 4 to 5 mm
  • Directional film, check orientation before cutting
  • Avoid overstretching during application
  • Remove protective cap before install

Care and maintenance

  • This is a flat matte metallic finish and it needs more care than a gloss or satin wrap. Outdoor durability is shorter than gloss and satin and depends heavily on climate, washing habits, and whether the vehicle is kept indoors. Parking under cover meaningfully extends the finish.
  • Wait 48 hours after installation before the first wash so the adhesive can fully set.
  • Hand wash only, using a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11) and a clean microfiber mitt. Rinse grit away first, wash gently, then dry with a clean microfiber towel.
  • Avoid automatic car washes, brushes, abrasive pads, and high-pressure washers. All of these mark a matte surface.
  • Never use waxes, polishes, gloss enhancers, or any product containing solvents or petroleum distillates. These raise the sheen unevenly, dull the matte, and can permanently degrade the film.
  • A vinyl-safe, matte-compatible ceramic coating is recommended for added protection and easier cleaning. Standard gloss coatings will change a matte finish, so use a matte-rated product. Aftermarket coatings are applied at the owner's discretion and any coating-related damage is not covered.
  • Spot-clean fingerprints, fuel, bird droppings, and tree sap as soon as
possible. The longer they sit, the more likely they stain.
  • Always test any cleaner or coating in a hidden area before treating the whole vehicle.
