Description

Ionix15 is the darkest and best performing film in the Ionix series.

Key attributes:

  • Visible light transmission (VLT): 16 ± 2%
  • Total solar energy rejected (TSER): 68 ± 2%
  • Infrared rejection (IRR): 92%
  • Ultraviolet rejection (UVR): over 99%
  • Internal visible light reflectance: 6%
  • 2.5 mil magnetron sputtering, 5-year warranty

Total solar energy rejection reaches 68% here, the highest figure the series produces, backed by 92% infrared rejection and more than 99% ultraviolet rejection at 16% visible light transmission. Deep privacy and maximum heat control arrive together.

Internal reflectance of 6% keeps the cabin side of the glass from mirroring at night, which is the usual weakness of dark metallised film. The 2.5 mil sputtered construction holds colour and reflectivity stable rather than drifting with age.

Specify for rear side windows and rear windshields on vehicles carrying passengers, cargo or equipment that needs to stay out of sight. Warranty is 5 years. Confirm local rules and use a professional installer.

Optical performance
Visible Light Transmission (VLT): 16 ± 2%
Internal Visible Light Reflectance: 6%
External Visible Light Reflectance: 8%
Infrared Transmittance (IR): 8 ± 2% (92% rejection)
Ultraviolet Rejection (UVR): over 99%
Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER): 68 ± 2%

Durability
2.5 mil construction adds shatter resistance to the glass
Metal layers deposited under vacuum for long-term optical and colour stability
Scratch-resistant hard coat on the exposed surface
Dimensionally stable across the service temperature range
Colour stable, does not fade to purple with age

Warranty
5-year TeckWrap limited warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination and excessive colour change.

Application

Professional installation strongly recommended
Apply at +17°C to +23°C in a dust-free environment
Service temperature range: -45°C to +45°C
Wet application with slip and tack solutions
Tools: squeegee with soft buffer, hard card, heat gun, knife, masking tape, microfiber cloth, gloves, IR thermometer
Conformability: smooth and medium-curved glass
Directional film, check orientation before cutting
Overlap 3 to 4 mm where panels meet
Post-heat to set the adhesive once the film is squeegeed out
Remove the protective cap before installation
Contains metal layers, check compatibility with glass-mounted antennas, toll transponders and older radio aerials
Allow 7 to 14 days to cure before rolling the windows down
Do not clean the film for 7 days after installation
After cure, clean with an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth only
Verify local window tint laws before installation. At 16% VLT this film is darker than most regions permit on front side windows and the windshield. Fit to rear glass only unless local law allows otherwise.

Disclaimer

All TeckWrap statements, technical information and recommendations are based on tests believed to be reliable but do not constitute a guarantee or warranty. All products are sold on the understanding that the buyer has independently determined the suitability of the product for their purpose.

TeckWrap warrants this film for 5 years against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination and excessive colour change under normal use. In the event of a valid claim TeckWrap will replace the product or provide compensation at its sole discretion. This is the exclusive obligation of TeckWrap Inc.

The warranty does not cover normal wear, transportation, labour, consequential damages, improper installation, damage caused by abrasive or ammonia-based cleaning, or physical impact. Film applied to damaged, pitted or previously tinted glass is not covered.

Local laws on automotive window tint vary significantly by region and may restrict VLT on specific windows. The buyer is responsible for confirming legal compliance before installation. Screen images may vary from the physical product, refer to a physical sample. Use film from the same production lot across all windows on a vehicle to keep colour consistent.

How TeckWrap compares

Not all film is the same

Cheap film won't last a season. Legacy brands charge a brand premium. TeckWrap sits in the middle: professional-grade film at an honest price.

The cheap way

Budget Film

Saves money up front, then bubbles, fades and cracks within a season.

How it blocks heat

Dye absorbs light. The glass heats up and radiates inward.

Solar energy rejected

Around 35 to 45 percent, even on the darkest shade.

Infrared rejection

Low, and it falls further as the dye breaks down.

Signal interference

Metallized film blocks GPS, keyless entry, and radio reception.

Color stability

Turns purple, fades, and bubbles as the adhesive fails.

Warranty

A shop warranty that ends when the shop closes.

The smart way

TeckWrap Film

Professional-grade film at an honest price. Reversible, paint-safe, and color-shifting.

How it blocks heat

Rejects infrared instead of absorbing it, so the glass stays cooler.

Solar energy rejected

Up to 70 percent total solar energy rejected, stated per SKU.

Infrared rejection

Up to 93 percent infrared rejection, published on every product page.

Signal interference

Ceramic lines are non metallic. Phone, GPS and TPMS unaffected.

Color stability

Does not fade to purple. Color change is a covered warranty failure.

Warranty

Eight years, manufacturer backed. Five on the sputtered silver lines.

The legacy way

Legacy Brand Film

Comparable film, but you pay a brand premium.

How it blocks heat

Ceramic or multilayer. Same method, at the legacy brand price.

Solar energy rejected

High TSER across the range, with a matching price tag.

Infrared rejection

High IRR. Check which band it was measured on.

Signal interference

Ceramic lines are clear of it. Metallized lines are not.

Color stability

Color stable across the warranty period, at a higher price.

Warranty

Lifetime on paper. Read what the exclusions actually remove.
