Description

Brushed Black (BM04) is an ultra-dark graphite-black finish featuring a directional brushed-metal texture that mimics finely machined metal surfaces. Positioned between satin black, gunmetal, and dark titanium, it delivers a distinctly technical and industrial appearance that immediately stands apart from conventional gloss, matte, or satin films.

Key Attributes

  • Directional brushed-metal grain: a true linear texture that mimics finely machined metal, not a painted or printed effect.
  • Sits in its own tonal lane: positioned between satin black, gunmetal, and dark titanium, reads as technical and industrial rather than a standard flat matte.
  • Consistent grain across panels: premium polymeric hybrid film with air-release channels; keep orientation and production LOT matched across a full vehicle to avoid grain mismatch.
  • Adhesive built for clean removal: Henkel solvent-based acrylic, weatherproof, heat-removable within the 2-year window with minimal residue.
  • Accent and trim application: built for spoilers, mirrors, roofs, and trim rather than full-body coverage, professional installation is strongly recommended, with grain-specific aftercare

Under shade and overcast conditions, BM04 appears almost black with charcoal undertones, creating a stealthy and sophisticated presence. As sunlight reaches the surface, the brushed texture becomes more pronounced, revealing soft graphite and titanium highlights that travel along the grain direction. This creates movement and dimensionality without relying on metallic sparkle or gloss reflections.

OEM Match

There's no carbon weave or paint color to benchmark here, so the comparison point is grain and tone against recognizable factory and aftermarket brushed-metal finishes:

  • Similar tonal range to factory Gunmetal and Titanium Gray trim packages on Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz
  • Comparable grain character to common aftermarket brushed-aluminum trim kits (window surrounds, mirror caps)
  • Reads closer to machined metal than a standard matte black wrap, without the sparkle of a metallic-flake finish

If a customer wants the "technical, machined" trim look often associated with brushed aluminum or gunmetal accent packages, Brushed Black (BM04) delivers that on any panel, it's the wrap to reach for when Noir Black or Pitch Black Carbon reads as too textured/woven for what they actually want.

Warranty

This is an accent and trim film for partial application. Used on spoilers, mirrors, roofs, and interior trim, it is built for long-term use with up to 3 years of durability on vertical surfaces and around 2 years on a full panel, depending on climate zone. The warranty covers manufacturing defects such as bubbling, cracking, and adhesive failure when the film is properly stored, professionally installed, and maintained per the care guidance. It does not cover abrasion, scratches, gloss change, or normal wear. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application

  • Best suited to partial and accent application: spoilers, mirrors, roofs, door trim, and interior elements.
  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Application temperature: +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: standard squeegee with soft buffer, heat gun, knife, masking tape, gloves
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Directional film. The brushed grain runs in one direction, so keep orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid texture mismatch between panels.
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Avoid overstretching during application, which can distort the brushed texture
  • Post-heat: 100°C
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). The brushed grain can trap dirt, so rinse thoroughly and dry along the grain direction. Avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

Disclaimer

All TeckWrap statements, technical information, and recommendations are based on tests believed to be reliable but do not constitute a guarantee or warranty. All products are sold with the understanding that the buyer has independently determined the suitability of the products for their purpose.

TeckWrap products are warranted to be free of defects in material for the period of shelf life. In case of defects, TeckWrap will replace the product or compensate at its sole discretion. This is the exclusive obligation of TeckWrap Inc.

Warranty does not cover normal wear, transportation, labor, or consequential damages. Coverage requires proper storage, professional installation, and maintenance in line with TeckWrap's care guidance, and does not apply to films installed on non-OEM, repainted, or damaged surfaces. If you notice cracking, lifting, edge failure, or other defects, contact your installer promptly for assessment.

The brushed texture is more sensitive to abrasion within the grain and can trap dirt more readily than a flat finish. This is a normal characteristic of a textured film and is not covered.

Removal from aged, repainted, or poorly bonded factory paint may lift paint or clear coat. TeckWrap is not responsible for the condition of the underlying paint upon removal.

Screen images may vary, refer to physical color swatches. Use the same production LOT for color consistency. Scratches during application or daily use are not covered.
