Description

Sable Black is the softest of TeckWrap's blacks. Where a dead-flat matte reads hard and technical, this one looks deep and velvety, closer to brushed suede than to primer. One buyer rated it the best soft black they had used, and that is the idea, a rich black with just enough softness to look expensive up close.

Key Attributes

  • Soft, velvety black: a deep matte with a smooth, suede-like surface that looks richer and warmer than a hard flat black.
  • Low, even glare: the finish keeps reflections soft and diffused, so the color stays deep in both sun and shade.
  • Henkel adhesive: solvent acrylic adhesive that stays clear and holds up to sun, rain, and regular washing.
  • Clean removal: comes off with heat and leaves the factory paint underneath unharmed.
  • Wraps edges and curves: air-release channels and a stretchable film follow panels, edges, and moderate recesses.

Sable Black trades the hard, technical look of a dead-flat matte for something softer. In low light it reads as a deep, even black with a faint velvet softness. In direct sun it stays calm, with none of the hard glare of gloss. The depth is what people notice. It looks plush rather than flat, which is why it sits well on luxury sedans and SUVs. Use it when you want a black that feels expensive instead of aggressive.

OEM Match

  • Softer and warmer than a standard dead-flat matte black.
  • Close in mood to Mercedes designo magno black.
  • A velvety alternative to BMW Frozen Black.
  • Reads almost like a low satin black in some light.

Soft matte blacks like this are factory options on high-end sedans and SUVs. TeckWrap Sable Black puts that look on any car, and it comes off cleanly when you want a change.

Warranty

Super matte is a delicate finish and needs more care than gloss or satin. With proper care and a matte-safe ceramic coating, expect up to 3 years of outdoor durability on vertical panels and around 2 years across a full wrap, depending on climate zone. Parking indoors or under cover extends the finish. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application

  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Application temperature: +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: standard squeegee with soft buffer, heat gun, knife, masking tape, gloves
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Directional film. Keep orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid finish variation between panels
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Avoid overstretching during application
  • Avoid over-buffing and hard squeegee pressure, which can burnish a matte surface to a shine
  • Post-heat: 90°C
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a matte-safe, pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, polishes, gloss enhancers, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

TeckWrap products are warranted to be free of defects in material for the period of shelf life. In case of defects, TeckWrap will replace the product or compensate at its sole discretion. This is the exclusive obligation of TeckWrap Inc.

Matte and super matte finishes can burnish to a shine if rubbed, scrubbed, or polished, and show fingerprints, water spots, and contaminant staining more readily than gloss. These are normal characteristics of a matte finish and are not covered.

Removal from aged, repainted, or poorly bonded factory paint may lift paint or clear coat. TeckWrap is not responsible for the condition of the underlying paint upon removal.
