Perfect for Details! Really liked how it handled smaller

Perfect for Details!
Really liked how it handled smaller, detailed areas. It didn’t bunch up or crease easily, which made tricky sections come out clean without redoing parts. Colour was insane in person.

Yes I used the material.  Material is great. It stretches earlier and is much easier to do small corners with. Most important to me is I was able to install without glue lines

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with our new material! 😊 We’re thrilled to hear it provided better stretch for corners and eliminated glue lines.

It's not common for us to do since Teckwrap is comparably difficult but the customer loved the finish.

Description

Near-black colours usually cheat you one of two ways. Either the colour never shows and you've paid for something that reads as plain black in every light, or it goes thin and lilac the moment the sun hits it. TeckWrap Gloss Metallic Black Cherry Ice does neither. The base stays genuinely dark while the colour lives in the highlight band, appearing exactly where light lands on the panel.

Key Attributes

  • Colour in the highlight, not the base: near-black plum base carries magenta-violet metallic that ignites along the crown of each panel and stays dark everywhere else.
  • Renolit 190 Series film: hybrid polymeric construction with fine metallic structure gives the reflection real depth, with no orange peel across large flat panels.
  • Weather-ready adhesive: Henkel solvent acrylic stays transparent and ultra weather-resistant, with an air-release grid liner for a controlled, bubble-free lay-down.
  • Clean release: heat-removable within two years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue on a sound OEM factory finish.
  • Unforgiving of shortcuts: conforms over smooth and medium-curved surfaces, but as a dark directional metallic it shows orientation errors, LOT variance, and thin prep work more readily than any light colour, one LOT per vehicle, consistent direction, thorough prep.

TeckWrap Black Cherry Ice spends most of its life looking almost black. Under cloud and in shade it holds a deep near-black plum, with the colour visible only along the edges of a panel. Direct sun changes that instantly: a magenta-violet band lifts along the shoulder and crown lines while the surrounding metal stays dark, so the car reads as black with a violet seam of light running through it. Golden hour warms that band toward wine-plum, and streetlight at night catches it as pure violet. Against a flat black wrap there is no comparison in movement, and against a bright purple it stays far more restrained.

OEM Match

  • Closest to Nissan Midnight Purple II.
  • Same near-black base as BMW Individual Ruby Black Metallic.
  • More violet than Jeep Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl.
  • Darker than Porsche Amethyst Metallic.

Midnight Purple is collector territory now, priced accordingly and effectively unobtainable on anything modern. Black Cherry Ice puts that same near-black-to-violet behaviour on hot hatches, coupes, executive sedans, and EV builds, on a film you can take off again.

Warranty

Built for long-term outdoor use, with up to 3 years of durability on vertical panels and around 2 years across a full wrap, depending on climate zone. Horizontal surfaces such as roofs, hoods, and bonnets take the most sun and weather and carry a shorter expected life. The warranty covers manufacturing defects such as bubbling, cracking, and adhesive failure when the film is properly stored, professionally installed, and maintained per the care guidance. It does not cover abrasion, scratches, gloss change, or normal wear. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application

  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Apply at +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: squeegee, buffer, knife, masking tape, heat gun, magnets, gloves, IR thermometer
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Post-heat: 100°C
  • Cure: 24 hrs above 10°C (48 hrs at room temperature recommended)
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Directional film, especially metallic colors. Keep film orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid color shift between panels.
  • Avoid overstretching during application
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

How TeckWrap compares

Not all film is the same

Cheap film won't last a season. Legacy brands charge a brand premium. TeckWrap sits in the middle: professional-grade film at an honest price.

The cheap way

Budget Film

Saves money up front, then bubbles, fades and cracks within a season.

Price per roll

$80 to $350 per roll. Cheap upfront, then you pay a shop to strip it.

Film construction

Monomeric calendered vinyl. Shrinks back off the edges within months.

Release liner

Paper liner. Curls in storage and telegraphs into the finish.

Adhesive system

Rubber based. Grabs on contact and leaves residue on removal.

Warranty and removal

None stated, or a term with nothing behind it.

Color and finish range

A short list of solids. Color drifts between production batches.

The smart way

TeckWrap Film

Professional-grade film at an honest price. Reversible, paint-safe, and color-shifting.

Price per roll

From $399 per roll, enough film to cover a standard sedan.

Film construction

High-grade polymeric multilayered hybrid vinyl with built in air release.

Release liner

Plastic PET release liner, holds the film tension flat for clean gloss off the roll.

Adhesive system

Henkel solvent acrylic. Repositions during install, peels back paint safe.

Warranty and removal

3 years vertical, rated by climate zone and panel. Claims paid.

Color and finish range

Over 220 colors in gloss, satin, matte, metallic, chrome, color shift.

Order a Sample

See the finish in person before you commit.

The legacy way

Legacy Brand Film

Comparable film, but you pay a brand premium.

Price per roll

$600 to $900 or more per roll for the same coverage.

Film construction

Comparable construction, priced as if the badge were a material.

Release liner

Same plastic liner standard, at roughly double the roll price.

Adhesive system

Same acrylic chemistry class, with a brand premium on top.

Warranty and removal

Long headline term. Read the exclusion list before you trust it.

Color and finish range

Solid core range, thin on color shift and specialty finishes.
