Description

Most headlight tint is a cosmetic film that hazes, lifts, and leaves you scraping adhesive off a $900 lens two winters later. TeckWrap Lumex does not. It is a 330-micron TPU protection film that happens to be smoked, so the lens gains armor at the same time it goes dark.

Key attributes:

  • Deep smoke, 30% VLT: 30% ±3% light transmission gives you the blacked-out lens show cars and detail builds are after.
  • Real protection thickness: 330 ±10 μm total build with a 210 ±5 μm application layer (8.27 ±0.2 mil) that takes stone chips instead of passing them to the lens.
  • Self-healing TPU: heat-repair coating pulls light scratches and swirl back out of the surface when the film warms.
  • Grip that stays down: ≈2200 g/inch peel adhesion holds the edges flat against curved housings and still removes residue-free.
  • Optical clarity held: ≈99% UV resistance with ≈1.5% haze and ≈90 GU gloss at 60°, so the film blocks the yellowing and fogging that finish off cheap tint.
  • Stretch without tearing: ≈350% product elongation and ≈110% coating elongation wrap tight European and Asian housings; ≈18 MPa tensile strength and 100°C temperature resistance handle the rest.

Lumex reads as a solid dark lens in daylight and gives the front end that closed, aggressive face without a respray or an aftermarket housing swap. At night the beam is noticeably reduced, which is why this shade belongs on show cars, track cars, and taillights more often than on a car that commutes down unlit roads. If you want the smoke with your low beams at full duty, take Spectra THL55 at 54% VLT instead.

Tint on forward-facing lights is regulated in most states and countries, so confirm your local rules before installing on headlights. Wet application gives you the working time to position it, and heat relaxes it into compound curves, but a lens this dark rewards an experienced installer.

Warranty
3-year manufacturer warranty covering manufacturing defects, including yellowing, cracking, bubbling, and adhesive failure, when properly installed and maintained. Excludes abrasion, scratches, impact damage, and normal wear. Removes residue-free with heat.

Application

Application temperature: +17°C to +23°C
Surface: clean the lens fully, decontaminate, and dry before application. Apply to undamaged, factory or professionally refinished lenses only.
Method: wet application with slip solution for positioning
Tools: squeegee, heat gun, lint-free cloth
Forming: warm the film to relax it into curves and recesses, keep the surface below 100°C
Edges: wrap or tuck edges cleanly, avoid trapping solution under the perimeter
Cure: allow 24 to 48 hours before washing
Aftercare: hand wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum distillates
Legal: tint on forward-facing lights is regulated in many regions; verify local law before installation
Installation: professional installation recommended, especially on complex housings
