Description

Aurora85 transmits 85% of visible light, which puts it close to bare glass.

Key attributes:

  • Visible light transmission (VLT): 85 ± 2%
  • Total solar energy rejected (TSER): 35 ± 2%
  • Infrared rejection (IRR): 50%
  • Ultraviolet rejection (UVR): over 99%
  • Internal visible light reflectance: 12%
  • 2 mil multi-layer composite, 8-year warranty

This is the clarity end of the range. Where other films start by taking light away, Aurora85 leaves the windshield essentially open and works on ultraviolet and total solar load instead, rejecting more than 99% of UV and 35% of total solar energy through a multi layer composite structure.

The film carries a cool blue technical cast in reflected light that shifts noticeably when the glass is wet. That optical signature, combined with the very high transmission, makes it the natural specification for electric vehicles with large glazed areas and for markets where windshield tint limits are strict.

Supplied on 1.52 m by 15 m rolls at 2 mil applied thickness. Position Aurora85 on clarity and UV protection rather than on maximum heat rejection. Customers whose priority is infrared performance belong on Helios75Pro.

Application

Professional installation strongly recommended
Apply at +17°C to +23°C in a dust-free environment
Service temperature range: -45°C to +45°C
Wet application with slip and tack solutions
Tools: squeegee with soft buffer, hard card, heat gun, knife, masking tape, microfiber cloth, gloves, IR thermometer
Conformability: smooth and medium-curved glass
Directional film, check orientation before cutting
Overlap 3 to 4 mm where panels meet
Post-heat to set the adhesive once the film is squeegeed out
Remove the protective cap before installation
Allow 7 to 14 days to cure before rolling the windows down
Do not clean the film for 7 days after installation
After cure, clean with an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth only
Verify local window tint laws before installation. At 85% VLT this film clears the 70% threshold applied to front side windows in many regions, though some still prohibit any film on the windshield below the AS-1 line.
