Description

Black is the most common colour on the road and the most anonymous. Plain gloss black wraps make it worse, they read as a cheap respray and swallow every body line on the car. Factory metallic blacks solve it in theory, but the flake is usually so fine you need to be a metre away to find it. TeckWrap Gloss Metallic Ebony Sparkle puts flake in the black that you can actually see.

Key Attributes

  • Flake you can pick out individually: deep gloss black base carrying discrete metallic particles that read as distinct points of light rather than an even shimmer.
  • Glitter-effect polymeric hybrid film: premium multilayered construction with air-release channels keeps the gloss even across roofs and bonnets, so the flake stays the thing you notice.
  • Weather-ready adhesive, clean release: Henkel solvent acrylic stays transparent and ultra weather-resistant, and is heat-removable within two years for the cleanest removal on a sound OEM finish.
  • Prep shows through more than on any other colour: gloss black is the least forgiving finish there is, dust, grit, and sanding marks under the film will read through it, so the substrate work matters as much as the lay-down.
  • Directional glitter film: conforms over smooth and medium-curved surfaces, and needs consistent orientation plus one production LOT per vehicle, since flake density is what varies between panels if you mix them.

TeckWrap Ebony Sparkle spends daylight looking like an exceptionally deep piano black, with the flake dormant under cloud and in shade. Direct sun switches it on, the surface breaks into a field of individual bright points rather than the soft haze a fine metallic gives you. Where it earns its money, though, is under artificial light, streetlights, forecourt LEDs, car park lighting, headlights sweeping past. Against a plain gloss black there's no contest, and against a factory metallic black the flake is actually visible from normal walking distance.

OEM Match

  • Closest to Nissan Meteor Flake Black Pearl.
  • Same flake visibility as Cadillac Black Diamond Tricoat.
  • Coarser flake than Audi Mythos Black Metallic.
  • Brighter sparkle than Mercedes-Benz Obsidian Black Metallic.
  • Far more active than Ford Shadow Black.

Sparkle blacks are a paid upgrade on premium trims, and even then the flake is usually held back to something you have to hunt for. Ebony Sparkle is the way to change your car's colour without leaving black, which makes it the low-risk pick for anyone who wants presence without committing to a colour they'll tire of, on sedans, coupes, SUVs, and trucks alike.

Warranty

Built for long-term outdoor use, with up to 3 years of durability on vertical panels and around 2 years across a full wrap, depending on climate zone. Horizontal surfaces such as roofs, hoods, and bonnets take the most sun and weather and carry a shorter expected life. The warranty covers manufacturing defects such as bubbling, cracking, and adhesive failure when the film is properly stored, professionally installed, and maintained per the care guidance. It does not cover abrasion, scratches, gloss change, or normal wear. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application

  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Apply at +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: squeegee, buffer, knife, masking tape, heat gun, magnets, gloves, IR thermometer
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Post-heat: 90°C
  • Cure: 24 hrs above 10°C (48 hrs at room temperature recommended)
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Directional film, especially metallic and glitter colors. Keep film orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid finish variation between panels.
  • Avoid overstretching during application
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

Metalized and glitter films may show fine surface sparkle variation with viewing angle and lighting. This is a characteristic of the finish and is not a defect.

Removal from aged, repainted, or poorly bonded factory paint may lift paint or clear coat. TeckWrap is not responsible for the condition of the underlying paint upon removal.

Screen images may vary, refer to physical color swatches. Use the same production LOT for color consistency. Scratches during application or daily use are not covered.
