Opel was Hungary's most popular car brand in 2019, with nearly 500 thousand registered vehicles in the country. Suzuki followed it with over 431 thousand cars.
Volkswagen, Ford, and Renault were also among Hungary's top five most popular car brands, with over 200 thousand registered vehicles each. Skoda, Toyota, Peugeot, Fiat, and BMW complete the list of the top ten most popular car brands in Hungary.
Auto Shows in Hungary
There are several auto shows in Hungary. One of the most significant events is the Auto, Motor & Tuning Show (AMTS), which is Hungary’s main automotive event and is held annually in Budapest. The show features more than 1,000 unique vehicles from all segments of the car industry, including cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
The event also includes several separate thematic events, such as the Tuning International car tuning and hifi show, the Show and Shine and DB Drag Competition, and the Adrenalin Gymkhana & Drift Championship. The next AMTS is scheduled to take place from March 22 to March 24, 2024.
Another significant event is the Automotive Hungary International Automotive Supplier Exhibition, which is held annually in Budapest. The event showcases the latest industrial and automotive developments and trends and is attended by thousands of visitors from around the world.
