Description

Most matte blacks are flat and one-note. TeckWrap Sandy Black is different. It carries a fine, sand-like grain in a super-matte surface, which gives the black more depth than a plain flat finish. From across the street it reads as solid black. Up close you can see the texture.

Key Attributes

  • Super-matte with a sandy grain: a very low-sheen black with a light texture that gives it depth instead of sitting completely flat.
  • Almost no glare: the surface scatters nearly all reflected light and keeps an even, non-reflective tone in any condition.
  • Henkel adhesive: solvent acrylic adhesive that stays clear and holds up to daily weather.
  • Clean removal: comes off with heat years later and leaves the paint underneath unharmed. Installers report it lifts without a fight.
  • Wraps edges and curves: air-release channels and a stretchable film follow edges and moderate curves with a smooth lay-down.

Sandy Black sits just off a standard matte black. In flat light it looks like a deep, soft black with no shine. When the light hits at an angle, the sandy texture catches just enough to show grain, never sparkle. It is a quiet finish. It suits an executive sedan as well as a blacked-out build.

The magno and frozen matte finishes are factory upgrades on only the most expensive trims. TeckWrap Sandy Black puts that deep, textured matte on any car, and it comes back off when you want it gone.

Warranty

Super matte is a delicate finish and needs more care than gloss or satin. With proper care and a matte-safe ceramic coating, expect up to 3 years of outdoor durability on vertical panels and around 2 years across a full wrap, depending on climate zone. Parking indoors or under cover extends the finish. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application
  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Application temperature: +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: standard squeegee with soft buffer, heat gun, knife, masking tape, gloves
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Directional film. Keep orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid finish variation between panels
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Avoid overstretching during application
  • Avoid over-buffing and hard squeegee pressure, which can burnish a matte surface to a shine
  • Post-heat: 90°C
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a matte-safe, pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, polishes, gloss enhancers, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

Matte and super matte finishes can burnish to a shine if rubbed, scrubbed, or polished, and show fingerprints, water spots, and contaminant staining more readily than gloss. These are normal characteristics of a matte finish and are not covered.

Removal from aged, repainted, or poorly bonded factory paint may lift paint or clear coat. TeckWrap is not responsible for the condition of the underlying paint upon removal.
