Description

Wine reds usually go one of two ways: they stay dark and flat under cloud cover, or they wash out under direct sun. TeckWrap’s Madeira Red takes a different route, shifting from rich burgundy and wine red into purple and fiery copper as the light moves.

Key Attributes

  • Wine-red color shift: deep red, burgundy, purple, and copper tones move through the finish, giving each panel more color range than a fixed red.
  • Gloss with depth: polymeric multilayered hybrid film creates a high-gloss surface that carries sharp reflections across body lines and curves.
  • Smoother installation: air-release channels let trapped air escape during installation, helping large sections lay down evenly.
  • Weatherproof adhesion: Henkel solvent acrylic adhesive holds through changing weather without peeling or cracking.
  • No shortcuts on curves: wraps around mirrors, edges, bumpers, and moderate curves while keeping the color shift consistent.
  • Comes off clean: removes without leaving residue behind or damaging the clear coat when it is time to change.

Madeira Red starts with a deep burgundy base and a quiet purple undertone. As light crosses the surface, wine red gives way to glowing metallic red, violet, and fiery copper. Shade pushes the finish toward dark burgundy and plum, while direct sunlight brings the warmer copper and red tones forward. Generic red color-shift films fade to a flat brick red; Madeira Red keeps changing across the panel instead of settling into one fixed shade.

If deep factory reds are your reference point, Madeira Red adds the purple and copper shift that factory paint rarely carries across an entire car.

Warranty

Built for long-term outdoor use, with up to 3 years of durability on vertical panels and around 2 years across a full wrap, depending on climate zone. Horizontal surfaces such as roofs, hoods, and bonnets take the most sun and weather and carry a shorter expected life. The warranty covers manufacturing defects such as bubbling, cracking, and adhesive failure when the film is properly stored, professionally installed, and maintained per the care guidance. It does not cover abrasion, scratches, gloss change, or normal wear. Heat-removable within 2 years for the cleanest removal, with minimal adhesive residue.

Application

  • Surface: apply only to a clean, sound, fully cured OEM factory finish. Repainted, primed, aftermarket, or damaged surfaces can affect adhesion and removal and fall outside warranty coverage.
  • Apply at +17°C to +23°C
  • Tools: squeegee, buffer, knife, masking tape, heat gun, magnets, gloves, IR thermometer, IR heater
  • Conformability: smooth and medium-curved surfaces
  • Post-heat: 100°C
  • Cure: 24 hrs above 10°C (48 hrs at room temperature recommended)
  • Overlap: 3 to 4 mm
  • Directional film. The color-shift effect orients with the film, so keep orientation consistent across all panels and use one production LOT per vehicle to avoid a mismatched shift between panels.
  • Avoid overstretching during application, which can distort the color-shift pigment
  • Remove the protective cap before installing
  • Professional installation strongly recommended for the best result and to keep the warranty valid
  • Aftercare: hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo (pH 3 to 11). Avoid waxes, solvents, and petroleum-distillate products, and never use automatic washes, brushes, or high-pressure washers.

Disclaimer

All TeckWrap statements, technical information, and recommendations are based on tests believed to be reliable but do not constitute a guarantee or warranty. All products are sold with the understanding that the buyer has independently determined the suitability of the products for their purpose.

TeckWrap products are warranted to be free of defects in material for the period of shelf life. In case of defects, TeckWrap will replace the product or compensate at its sole discretion. This is the exclusive obligation of TeckWrap Inc.

Warranty does not cover normal wear, transportation, labor, or consequential damages. Coverage requires proper storage, professional installation, and maintenance in line with TeckWrap's care guidance, and does not apply to films installed on non-OEM, repainted, or damaged surfaces. If you notice cracking, lifting, edge failure, or other defects, contact your installer promptly for assessment.

Color-shift films change apparent color with viewing angle, lighting, and surroundings, and the direction of the shift follows the film orientation. This is the defining characteristic of a color-shift film and is not a defect.

Removal from aged, repainted, or poorly bonded factory paint may lift paint or clear coat. TeckWrap is not responsible for the condition of the underlying paint upon removal.

Screen images may vary, refer to physical color swatches. Use the same production LOT for color consistency. Scratches during application or daily use are not covered.
